ECA’s voucher program makes a direct impact in our community by allowing people to choose free items from our inventory. Although the program was on hold for two years due to COVID, on June 1, we welcomed back seven of our nonprofit partners. These organizations can send clients to us with a voucher that allows them to choose 10 free items for each family member. The items may include any category except jewelry, evening wear, furniture, and items priced over $20.

Over the last 16 weeks, we have redeemed 28 vouchers for 39 people; that’s an average of two individuals per week.  These items have totaled $2320 in donated goods.  Each month our voucher use increases as more caseworkers learn about our program and refer clients.

ECA’s volunteers love the human connection in our voucher program—meeting clients, helping them find items in the store, and offering a friendly, welcoming place where clients can feel a spirit of abundance.
