June at ECA

Make it stand out

ECA’s Store Manager, Susan Smith, checks in. Email her at ecathriftshop@gmail.com

By sharing just 3 hours of your time each week volunteering at ECA, you help provide material and financial assistance to individuals and families in east King County. In those three hours, you can develop new skills, grow your social network, and positively influence real issues facing our community.

We plan to grow our volunteer staff to maintain the core of our business as a thrift shop and to recruit new team members with special skills such as communications, photography, social media marketing, and research. Running the thrift shop can include pricing, organizing merchandise, cashiering, steaming clothing, and assisting shoppers. You don’t need experience at these tasks; we provide training and try to place volunteers in areas that personally interest them. We also have opportunities for folks who want to shape our branding and community relations, some of which can be done remotely.

Volunteer benefits include learning new skills, a 20% discount on merchandise, and expanding your network. Our volunteers come from all over the world and find connection over a love of treasure hunting, grassroots community efforts, and preserving one of the most unique thrift shops in the country. On top of that good news, we also have some talented bakers on staff who love to share their creations with their colleagues.

Join us in making a little tiny bit of the world better.
