In April, ECA hosted our first Volunteer Appreciation Party since the COVID pandemic hit. What a treat it was to see a table full of chatting, happy volunteers enjoying each other’s company and celebrating the hard work we do to serve the Eastside. Being able to return to these community events and celebrating our special shop together is important to keep morale high. Not surprisingly, I developed a challenging ECA trivia quiz for the event that had many folks stumped for answers. Volunteers did a round table introduction when they told what types of items they collect to help us learn more about one another’s quirks. As all true thrifters know, most of us have one or more collections in our homes that are often made bigger and better with thrifted treasures.
