Traditional pieces reimagined into global styles

ECA receives a ton of clothing donations that include diverse categories like active wear, business attire, baby clothes, and hand knit scarves and hats. Among this variety, we sometimes receive beautiful traditional clothing pieces that can find new life in global-inspired styles.

Cropped blouse styles are a great way to feel the summer breeze against your skin or show off a tattoo or piercing. These silk, hand-tailored blouses add an especially luxurious vibe to the cropped look. The green and red paisley blouse glows beneath a classic ivory button-down to offer a modest, sophisticated formal style. An equally stylish informal look can be achieved with this gold blouse layered with a sporty animal print jacket and classic scarf.

Make a skirt tailored to your unique shape by repurposing fabrics to drape exactly how you like them. Take an extra large shawl or scarf and loop it around the waist to make a skirt or swimsuit cover up (the length can be adjusted). Large swaths of fabric can also be repurposed to make reversible wrap skirts, like this new with tags silk skirt made of repurposed Indian sari fabric.
