Founded in 1989 from the unity of Kirkland Interfaith Transitions in Housing (KITH) and Housing at the Crossroads in Bellevue, Attain Housing stands today as a beacon of hope for families in King County.With a single, enduring mission: to unite our community and champion the cause of homeless families, providing them not just a roof but the tools for a brighter tomorrow.
Over 30,000 souls confront homelessness in King County annually. Why? The crushing weight of unaffordable housing. Imagine: a family of four on the Eastside now requires an average income surpassing $100,000 just to secure a home. And our children, the most tender and vulnerable amongst us, face elevated risks of illness and developmental delays.
We're on the front lines, tirelessly aiding homeless and at-risk families in King County. Our Transitional Housing program has provided family-focused housing in both Kirkland and Bellevue. And the numbers speak volumes:
In 2022 alone: 52 adults and 93 children found refuge through Attain Housing.
Our devoted case managers committed a staggering 2,815 hours, guiding families towards self-reliance and enduring housing.
The result? A heartwarming 75% of our families, closely engaged for half a year or more, found their way to sustainable, permanent homes.
Through our Stable Home initiative, we successfully prevented 195 families from facing the heartbreak of eviction last year.
